One of the four Kongou-class battlecruisers. Laid down before the outbreak of WW1, she mainly did patrols around the South China Sea, mainly around German colonies when Imperial Japan declared war against the Triple Alliance. After the war, she was converted and upgraded into a fast battleship.

Afterwards, she participated in some empire expansion with the Dutch East Indies and the Indian Ocean, before turning onto the US. She met her end despite claiming a few kills on American ships at the Battle of Guadalcanal, where she was crippled by the USS San Francisco and finally clapped by the USS Enterprise.
