He is one of the final bosses of the Metal Gear Solid game. A member of FOXHOUND under orders from Liquid Snake, his incredible size, strength and dexterity are almost legendary. Of a deeply philosophical personality and great physical corpulence. He is an expert in all types of heavy weaponry and combat vehicles. Rumor has it that he is some sort of Eskimo Shaman capable of talking to crows, and possibly even seeing what they see. He is also a graduate of the University of Alaska. He possesses formidable courage and bows to nothing, which we can deduce from the fact that he did not kneel before the enemy who defeated him (Solid Snake), but uttered his last words standing, without giving a sign of surrender.
During Vulcan Raven's first duel against Solid Snake, he drives a tank that is destroyed by Solid Snake. After this encounter, he decides to make it his personal prey.
In the second encounter, he fights Solid Snake wielding a large Vulcan Gatling gun or M61 Vulcan (usually mounted on F-16 aircraft), which almost turns Solid Snake into a sieve. However, he defeated him. After being defeated, he ordered the crows to devour him apparently so that his soul would rise to a higher level of rapport with nature.
